Description
New Zealand has been represented at the Commonwealth Games since the precursor of the event, the British Empire Games in 1930. Lawn bowls is strongly represented throughout the Commonwealth and New Zealand is no exception.
Our Commonwealth Collection features medals, photographs and memorabilia. Of special interest is the 1974 games held in Christchurch, New Zealand featuring the stylised "NZ" symbol depicted on many items in our collection. The event was officially named "the friendly games" and was held in the purpose built QEII park.
The 1914 Commonwealth Games will be held in Glasgow at Kelvingrove Lawn Bowls Centre.
