Wooden shield shaped plaque with a smaller plaque attached to the front. The plaque depicts a saint holding a distaff and two crosses path fitchy, which represent daggers and thus her martyrdom. There are two gold painted banners, the one above features "Merthyr Tydfil" and below the motto "Nid Cadarn Ond Brodyrdde", which means "No Strength but in Fellowship".
