Wooden shield shaped plaque with a smaller plaque attached to the front. The plaque depicts a shield of a gold and red chevron pattern, a red lion to the right and a unicorn to the left. Each stands on a sheath of wheat. Above is a wreath issuing from the top of a tower with a demi bear supporting a ship's mast with a main sail furled. The banner motto is "UNDOD CADERNID CYNNYDD". There is a gold painted banner below with "Borough of Vale of Glamorgan".
