Description
A small shield with ten small silver plaques in the shape of shields screwed to it. As well as a crossed pick and shovel at the top above a smaller embossed wooden shield which has "Diggers vs Kiwis" painted on it. At the bottom is a silver kiwi with ornamental crosshatching that has been screwed onto the shield.

Only one of the ten silver plaques has a date inscribed upon it. The rest are blank. The date is 1961 and the tournament was won by the Diggers.

Condition
Good, the shield is hand made and not professionally. However it was skillfully constructed and this is reflected in its good condition. The only minor detriment is that the silver components were secured with brass screws which have caused minor discolouration to the metal.
