Dark stained oval shaped block of wood with a slot cut in the top with a small round tape measure locked in place by a screw from the side the tape is incremented in inches and the tape has 2 small metal strips stopping the actual tape from moving up and down. At the opposite end to the tape is a metal pointer screwed in from the base which has a 180 degree arch of movement
